History of The Aspen Appraisal Group, Ltd.

The Aspen Appraisal Group started as James J. Mollica & Associates, Inc. in 1973. Jim Mollica, the founder, received his RM designation from the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers in 1975 and became one of the youngest MAI’s in Institute history in 1977.

Scott Bowie joined the firm as an appraisal associate in 1976, Randy Gold in 1978. Both were designated MAI by the Appraisal Institute in 1984, at which time they also joined Jim as equity partners in the firm.

In 1977 the firm moved into offices in the historic Crystal Palace Building in the heart of Aspen’s commercial core, where it remained for 32 years. In 2009 the firm relocated to the US Bank Building at 420 East Main Street.

Betsy Krizmanich joined the company in 1985. In 2010 she became an equity partner.

Randy and Scott bought 100% of the company in 1989 when Jim left the valley to pursue other interests. At that time the company was renamed The Aspen Appraisal Group, Ltd. In 2005 Randy became sole owner of the company to allow Scott the time to pursue other interests.

In 2010 with Betsy and Randy’s partnership, Aspen Appraisal Group, LLC was formed.
